NGT CARGO - Intermodal Terminal Concept
With NGT CARGO, DLR is researching a logistics concept for future freight transport.
The research focuses not only on the vehicle itself but also on the entire transport chain from sender to recipient.
This includes not only the vehicle itself, but also loading and unloading facilities, transshipment facilities, and the operational concept.
The intermodal terminal represents a central element of the transport chain.
Only the transfer of shipments to other modes of transport, such as cargo bikes and autonomous vehicle concepts such as the U-Shift, also developed at DLR, enables a complete intermodal supply chain.
