TAKT – Partially automatic constructing tool
As part of the development of the NGT CARGO high-speed freight train and the logistics system of the future, DLR has developed the construction tool TAKT (partially automatic constructing tool).
With a focus on lightweight construction, TAKT supports the product development process of large structural assemblies in rail vehicles (e.g. car bodies).
The goal of the tool is to develop a methodology that simplifies, standardizes and accelerates structural investigations in the early design process. The starting point is topology optimizations that were used, among other things, in the development of the NGT HST, the NGT LINK and also the CARGO.
The topology optimization is analyzed and converted into a design proposal that can be used to perform further analysis and design.
The current methodology also serves as a starting point for studies on the future use of AI in the development process in the DLR Rolling Stock “RoSto” project.
